Chargebee – Integration Setup
This guide outlines how to connect your Chargebee account to Antei to enable secure data sync of subscriptions, invoices, and customer activity for tax automation and compliance tracking.
Authentication Method
Antei connects to Chargebee using API Key-based authentication scoped per site environment.
- Type: API Key (Chargebee Site Key)
- Permissions Required:
- Read access to customers, subscriptions, invoices, orders, and product catalog
- Token Handling: Keys are encrypted at rest and scoped per workspace
- Security: No access to sensitive payment tokens. All activity is logged per sync cycle.
🔐 Antei is SOC 2 compliant. You can rotate or revoke keys from your Chargebee dashboard at any time.
Step-by-Step Setup
1. Navigate to Integrations → Chargebee
From the Antei dashboard, go to the Integrations tab and click Connect Chargebee.
2. Add API Key
Paste your Chargebee Site API Key, which you can retrieve from:
Chargebee → Settings → API Keys → Add Key (Read-only recommended)
3. Configure Sync Settings
Customize your sync preferences:
- Jurisdiction Assignment — map your Chargebee site to a specific country
- Historical Sync Window — sync last 3, 6, or 12 months of data
- Entity-level Filters — optionally include/exclude customers by tag or currency
✅ Antei only fetches data relevant to indirect tax compliance. No billing credentials or full payment details are accessed.
Verification & Testing
Once configured, Antei runs several validation steps:
- Connection test: Verifies access to key Chargebee APIs
- Preview pull: Checks visibility into invoices, customers, and subscriptions
- Logging: Every sync is monitored and recorded in Settings → Logs
FAQs
Can I connect both sandbox and production sites?
Yes. You can connect multiple Chargebee sites (e.g., sandbox.abc
and abc
) to different entities within Antei.
Is the integration read-only?
Yes — Antei only pulls data. No write operations or webhook changes are performed.
What if my key is rotated or revoked?
The sync will pause, and you will receive a notification in your Antei admin panel to reconnect with a valid key.
Does Antei access card or billing data?
No — Chargebee integration only pulls metadata on invoices, plans, and customers, not payment methods.
