Frequently Asked Questions
Comprehensive answers to common questions about using Antei for indirect tax automation and compliance.
Frequently Asked Questions
This section addresses commonly asked questions about Antei’s platform, architecture, data access, security, integrations, and compliance capabilities.
Platform & Usage
Antei automates a wide range of indirect tax workflows including data ingestion, registration workflows, jurisdictional validations, return preparation, reconciliation, and invoicing logic. Some steps like initial tax registration and document uploads may require manual confirmation for legal and audit reasons.
No. Antei is designed to be used by finance and operations teams without deep tax expertise. The platform provides jurisdiction-aware templates, workflows, and embedded guidance. That said, complex edge cases may require coordination with your internal or external tax advisors.
Yes. Tax rules, entity-level settings, filing thresholds, and exemptions can all be configured using Antei’s rule engine or by working with our support team.
Integrations
Antei natively integrates with billing systems (Stripe, Razorpay, Chargebee, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Xero), communication tools (Gmail, Outlook, Slack, Teams), and HRIS platforms (Workday, BambooHR, Gusto, Zoho People) via secure OAuth-based flows using Nango.
Data sync frequency depends on the module and configuration:
- Webhook-based syncs: Real-time (e.g., Stripe events)
- Scheduled syncs: Every 6 hours, daily, or custom intervals
- Manual sync: Triggered by user action or API call
Yes. During the initial connection, Antei imports a configurable window of historical data (e.g., past 3, 6, or 12 months). You can adjust this during the setup process per integration.
Security & Access Control
All data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard protocols. OAuth tokens are stored with encryption, and user access is governed by role-based permissions. Audit trails are maintained for every sync and outbound action.
Only authorized users within your organization can access synced data. Access can be restricted by role, module, or entity. Additionally, sensitive fields (e.g., customer PII) can be masked from non-finance roles.
Yes. Antei supports SSO through SAML and OAuth-based identity providers. Two-factor authentication is required for all admin-level accounts.
Compliance & Audit
Yes. Antei provides exportable logs, transaction-level reconciliation, entity-level filing history, and jurisdictional workflows — all designed to be audit-ready. The Vault module stores all supporting documentation for each return and notice.
Yes. Antei supports filings across multiple countries and jurisdictions. Each jurisdiction has its own configuration layer, calendar, thresholds, return templates, and workflow triggers.
Antei continuously monitors updates to jurisdiction-specific tax rules, return formats, and filing calendars. Relevant changes are reflected in the platform after validation, and updates are logged in the changelog for audit purposes.
Billing & Support
Pricing includes access to the platform, integrations, tax logic, and filing workflows. It is based on the number of jurisdictions, sync volume, and selected modules. Return filing and registration services may be charged as add-ons.
Support is available via email, in-platform messaging, and through dedicated account managers for enterprise plans. We also offer onboarding assistance and technical integration support for high-complexity use cases.
Yes. A sandbox environment is available for testing integrations, syncing dummy data, and validating workflows before going live.
