QuickBooks – Integration Setup

This guide outlines how to connect your QuickBooks account to Antei to enable automated syncing of financial and compliance-relevant data.

Authentication Method

Antei uses OAuth 2.0 authorization to connect securely with your QuickBooks account.

  • Type: OAuth 2.0 (Authorization Code Flow)
  • Scopes Requested:
    • Read-only access to customers, vendors, invoices, accounts, and transactions
    • No access to banking credentials or sensitive billing configuration
  • Token Management: Secure auto-refresh using Intuit’s token system
  • Security: Tokens are encrypted and scoped per organization. No credentials are stored.

🔐 Antei is SOC 2 compliant. All integration and sync activity is logged in the audit trail.

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Navigate to Integrations → QuickBooks

From the Antei dashboard, go to the Integrations tab and click Connect QuickBooks.

2. Authorize Access via QuickBooks

You’ll be redirected to the QuickBooks OAuth screen. Select your organization and approve the requested scopes.

3. Configure Sync Settings

Once connected, customize sync behavior:

  • Jurisdiction Mapping — match entities to countries for tax scope
  • Historical Sync Window — fetch last 3, 6, or 12 months of data
  • Filter by Accounts / Vendors — limit sync to relevant records

✅ Antei only pulls data relevant to tax workflows. Your financial data remains untouched and read-only.

Verification & Testing

After setup, Antei runs a connection validation to ensure full sync integrity.

  • Data access test: Ensures visibility into invoices, payments, and transactions
  • Sync initiation: First hourly sync begins within minutes
  • Audit trail logging: Every sync is traceable under Org Settings → Logs

Can I connect multiple QuickBooks companies?
Yes — Antei supports multi-org QuickBooks configurations. Each can be mapped to a separate entity.

Is QuickBooks integration read-only?
Yes — Antei does not write or modify any data inside your QuickBooks account.

How can I disconnect the integration?
You can disconnect at any time from either Antei or the QuickBooks Authorized Apps section.
